Like Vultures...

circling a still standing moribund carcass, eagerly waiting for it to collapse, that's what the press is like outside Lehman's doors. Though I work for a competitor only a block or so away, my heart goes out to my colleagues' in this industry who are now facing finanical uncertainty with no prospect of a decent retirement, being that many investment banks require their employees to tie their 401K & other retirment accounts into company stock.

Tommorrow we will be holding a prayer vigil not only for those who are homeless in Texas from Hurricane Ike but for the 16,000 who just lost their jobs at Lehman and the 18,000 who lost their jobs at Bear Sterns and those who might lose their jobs at AIG. Won't you join me?

Most folks don't think about the employees and how this affects them. Good post.
