Live Blogging from the Macy's Balloon site

Seeing these gigantic balloons come to life before our very eyes is truly priceless. It's almost as magical as seeing Santa. All the children, and many adults, are in awe of these gentle giants.

The Great Big Pumpkin

Look Charlie Brown, its the great big pumpkin, sitting in the middle of the street just a mile north of Times Square. Good grief, that's dangerous, just sitting there like that. Sorry, I just couldn't take a picture of Charlie Brown because he was just too large.

Guess who or what this is!

A dog so huge

It took 2 pictures to be able to take Scooby's full photo. That is definitely one big dog!

Sponge Bob moons us again

Yes, the big yellow sponge managed to once again show everyone his squarish briefs. Luckily, we were too busy admiring Scooby Doo just beyond him to notice, so this indiscretion was quickly overlooked.

A Big Yellow Bird

Big Bird was feeling a bit under the weather, after having been out on the town all night with some other NYC famous birds - NYC pidgeons. Here he is seen earlier this evening, trying to rouse himself to no avail.

Which balloons are these?

Who knows? Who cares?

It's better to look good than to feel good!

Or so goes one old Jim Belushi saying from a saturday night skit that would later morph & become the centerpiece of Billy Crystal's stints on Saturday Night Live.

Which means I finally feel sick enough to go to the Dr. On my way I came across this lovely scene and thought to myself: Even amongst the decaying leaves and withering trees this town looks good!

Perhaps more later...

Autum in my neighborhood

Not a bad place to be standed this weekend!

Major trackwork on 18 of 19 train lines, caused lots of service disruptions, angering many city residents. I'm not one of them, mostly because I love my neighborhood.

What I find amusing is the timing of these repairs. They halted them during the 3 months prior to the mayoral election, and decided to do them all at once the weekend immediately following the election. For the re-elected mayor, you could say the MTA has perfect timing.

Bright Lights Big City

Times Square (TS) at dusk. The week is finally over and as I take the endless walk towards the heart of TS, I let the stress, frustration and disappointment of the week to melt away with each new step I take on my homeward journey. What helps is having such a picturesque and visually stimulating view, which temporarily helps take me out of my head and the issues of the day.

Arriving at the station, I begin my subterranian descent, scurrying about to catch my train, like many of my fellow travellers, into the entrenched bowels of NYC.

I get to the train just as its about to pull out, and as I sit, I begin to wonder if I can actually make it to the end of January (after bonus distributions), let alone through next week, without being quiting.

I guess only time will tell.

For Bou & Son #2

Actually, this post is mostly for Bou's Son #2. To let him know there's lot of others who have gone through what he's going through and have managed to have a normal lifestyle. This is one of the places I go out to for dinner when I visit my mom.

Kiddo, If you ever come to NYC we'll do lunch, worry free & on me!
